Today I lead the Development, Infrastructure and Automation teams within a highly regulated financial services environment.

My responsibility goes far beyond delivering projects. It is about defining a technology strategy that enables sustainable growth while reducing complexity, operational dependency and long-term risk.

Over the years, my understanding of technology, leadership and the role IT should play within an organisation has continued to evolve—and it still does.

As a member of the Executive Committee, my perspective shifted from technology itself to the company as a whole.

Cloud transformation, M&A processes and defining the group's technology strategy strengthened a belief I still hold today: business growth should not require technology to become increasingly complex.

This marked my transition from managing technology to leading technology.

Working with enterprise customers, business-critical operations and a rapidly growing organisation showed me that technology is never the objective. Its role is to enable the business to move faster without becoming a bottleneck.

This was my first opportunity to lead the technology strategy behind a product.

I started looking beyond infrastructure, focusing instead on architecture, scalability and security as decisions capable of shaping a company's future—not just the success of its next release.

Consulting exposed me to organisations with completely different priorities, technologies and ways of working.

It reinforced an idea that has stayed with me ever since: there are no universal solutions. The right technical decision always depends on the business context and the people who will ultimately use it.

2009 – 2011 Manager, Supported Employment Center · Grupo Arcade Inforhouse
I led a document digitisation team where thousands of documents were scanned and manually enriched with metadata every day.

This role taught me that continuous improvement is rarely about revolutionary ideas. Sometimes, teaching someone a keyboard shortcut or simplifying a repetitive task can save thousands of hours over time.

Long before AI, automation or cloud computing became mainstream, I had already learned one of the principles that still guides me today: technology creates value when it removes repetitive work and allows people to focus on what truly requires human judgement.

2003 – 2009 Systems Administrator at Altia, S.A.
This was where I experienced real-world IT operations for the first time, working with production systems and infrastructure.

It taught me a lesson I still believe today: good architecture isn't created in meeting rooms. It comes from understanding what it actually takes to operate, maintain and support systems over time.

Much of the way I think about technology today started here. The best systems are rarely the most sophisticated—they're the ones that remain reliable and maintainable years later.
